Faith

Faith is such a simple yet complex, intriguing and deep concept. Faith is often known has believing without seeing, but I would like to make an arguement to that. Faith is the essential factor for miracles and for Salvation. Faith is not just believing without seeing, it's walking through the mist of darkness, holding on to the Iron Rod that leads to the Tree of Life. Faith is putting your trust in Jesus Christ that even though I can't see the end of the tunnel He does and that He won't lead me astray. We speak of faith as a mere belief in something or that it is just an action. It is the greatest action of all. It is the kind of action and belief that can move mountains, walk on water, and raise the dead. Faith is a gift from Heavenly Father and can be developed and can grow and can be cultivated and the more of it you use the more it increases. Alma knew this in fact there is a whole chapter in the Book of Mormon focused on helping us develop that precious gift into Life Eternal (Alma 32). Without faith there can be know Salvation, without faith, there can be no hope and most importantly without faith there can be no happiness. My faith and the faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is in whom this Church is named after, Jesus Christ. We press forward keeping the commandments of God in hopes of a brighter future. Faith in Jesus Christ is the first step a person must have in their journey towards Salvation, but this is not all Faith in Jesus Christ is not the end and it isn't intended to be the stopping grounds. Nephi says,
"And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life." (2 Nephi 31:19-20)
Jesus Christ Himself taught to His apostles that
"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." (Matthew 10:22)
I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was His prophet. I love you all and may God bless.

A Marvelous Work and a Wonder Is About To Come Forth!

Hey, I'm Elder Sherwood and I'm a missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am new to the blogging thing, but I hope I can get the hang of it, many wonderful things can come from doing this correctly and with the Spirit.

Well, I'd like to open with a quote from the Holy Scriptures of God,
"And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed , which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder..."(Isaiah 29:11,12,14)

I testify that this marvelous work among the children of men has commenced. Our Loving Heavenly father has again restored His Gospel and Authority back to the Earth. "So what does this have to do with me?", you might be asking. Well, it has absolutely everything to do with you whether you are participating in this great work or whether you are being administered to, you have a part to play! So gird up your loins and decide now if you are going to get in on the action or be a bystander as God's work moves forward. The hand is extended and the invitation is already there, so make your choice. I testify that Jesus Christ is real and that He is my Savior and Redeemer, I also bear my witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God as is the Bible, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church and that Thomas S. Monson is His prophet on the Earth today. I love you all and God Bless.
